Mario Jackson, also known by his stage name of RIO, is an American songwriter and producer.  He was born in Dayton, Ohio in a large family where musical and lyrical talents seem to permeate through the family’s blood. 

Commencing during RIO’s elementary years, he studied an eclectic variety of musical instruments including the Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone and Trumpet which provide an excellent foundation for his strong desire to be a prolific lyricist.  Realizing the value of a secular education, RIO is pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering.  Currently, RIO’s musical interest has shifted to songwriting.  The musical foundation gained from being a disciplined instrumentalist would complement well RIO’s “natural” ability to set down lyrics to paper.  

As a BMI affiliated member and a contributing partner of Clear Cutt Productions, a popular young production team based in RIO’s native Dayton, Mario’s talent is becoming recognized and sought after by heavy weights in the industry.  Recently, a remix of Screamin My Name by Clear Cutt Productions on which RIO also provides rap vocals, was a Top Five finalist in a contest sponsored by LeNeah, a new artist on Matriarch Records, the label by Super Star Vocalist Mary J. Blige.   Recently, RIO’s composition She Likes Me came to the attention of A/R Representation for the talented singer and star of television’s Dancing With The Stars, Mya, leading to an invitation to submit demos for new projects for Mya. 

The Music Industry is ready for some excitement and RIO is going to give them just what they’ve been wanting for so long.
